Hours after the kidnapping of children in an Islamic school in Tegina, Rafi local government area of Niger State, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and his wife travel out of the country.
Their whereabouts are unknown, but Governor Abubakar Sani
Bello and his wife were reportedly travelling on a security mission.
His chief press secretary Mary Noel Berje stated that Governor
Abubakar Sani Bello left the country to explore ways to strengthen the state's
security construction.
He also stated that the governor is expected back soon but has directed security militaries and state government officials to ensure the safe return of the kidnapped Tegina Islamic students.
“Governor Abubakar Sani Bello assured the parents of the kidnapped children of their safe return as the security organizations have been instructed to do everything possible to bring the children back as soon as possible and advised residents to collaborate and share information that will add to the quick rescue of the children,".
